A super simple way of making sausage rolls that taste delicious.

Simply Do This

  • Preheat oven to 200°C
  • On a floured surface roll out 400g ready-made puff pastry to about 48 x 32cm & cut into 16 equal rectangles.
  • Brush one end with beaten egg & place a half piece of Simply Chicken Original Viennas at the other end.
  • Season with salt & pepper
  • Roll the Vienna up in the pastry so it’s enclosed
  • Place rolled sausage rolls in fridge to harden
  • Remove & score top with a knife. Brush with beaten egg
  • Bake for 25 mins or until pastry is golden brown
  • Remove & leave to cool

Chakalaka Polony and Cheese Muffins

Savoury muffins are always a hit and make a tasty alternative to school sandwiches.

  • Lightly fry 200g chopped Simply Chicken Chakalaka Polony, and set aside
  • Grease a 12 hole muffin pan
  • Mix together 1 beaten egg, 250ml milk, 4tbsp oil and 1tbsp chopped parsley, then add in 250g sifted Self-raising flour, and 90g grated cheddar cheese
  • Stir in chopped polony
  • Spoon into muffin pan and baked for 20-25 minutes on 180°C
  • Cool on a wire rack

  • In a large saucepan of boiling salted water, cook 250g Macaroni until tender. Drain & rinse under cold water. Allow to cool.
  • Combine the 65ml Mayonnaise and 65ml cheese spread in a little bowl and mix well.
  • In a plastic cup, layer a spoonful of the cheesy mayonnaise, a little Macaroni, layer of chopped cherry tomato, grated cheese and then sliced Rainbow Simply Chicken Cheese Vienna’s. Repeat until plastic cup is filled
  • Cover with a lid and don’t forget to pack a spoon.

Smart Idea: Pack your mac & cheese with a frozen drink or ice block in a small cooler bag. This will keep the salad cool and fresh.

  • Mix 1 Bunch fresh chopped Dhania, 45ml Finely chopped onion, ½ chopped Cucumber, 20 halved Cherry tomatoes and 60ml Sweet Chilli Sauce in a bowl & set aside.
  • Place a generous amount of Nola creamy mayonnaise on the bun.
  • Place a few thin slices of avocado, a burger Pattie on top and then dollop with a few spoonfuls of salsa.

A delicious new take on the egg sandwich.

  • Peel 6 Hard-boiled eggs and mash with a fork. Combine mashed egg, 1 Stalk of finely chopped celery(optional) & 65ml Nola mayonnaise.
  • Spread mixture onto 4 buttered whole-wheat bread slices. Top with 250g thinly sliced Rainbow Simply Chicken Peri Peri Polony, shredded lettuce & sliced tomato, and then top with bread slices.
  • Cut into halves diagonally and wrap.

Vetkoek, tomato relish and Simply Chicken Cheese polony.

  • Shape your bread dough (home-made or store bought) into 8 golf sized balls, then fry a chopped onion and tablespoon of chopped garlic in a little oil.
  • Add a can of chopped tomatoes, dried oregano and a teaspoon of sugar. Cook until thickened and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Deep fry the Vetkoek balls in hot oil until they are deep golden brown and sound hollow when knocked. Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Slice the cooked Vetkoek in half and stuff with slices of Simply Chicken Cheese polony, a dollop of tomato relish and serve straight away. For a spicier twist, replace tomato relish with Chakalaka.

  • Cook Simply Chicken Bites until golden then pile onto a serving platter.
  • Chop up a few rashers of streaky bacon and fry until crispy. (optional)
  • Top chicken Bites with chopped jalapenos, bacon bits and grated cheddar and place under a grill until cheese has melted.
  • Sprinkle over chopped spring onions and add a healthy dollop of guacamole then you’re good to go.

  • Rub 4 large potatoes with oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 200°C for 40 minutes or until soft in the middle.
  • Chop up 4 Simply Chicken viennas and a small onion. Lightly fry with a 1 crushed garlic, until the onion is soft.
  • Grate a cup of cheddar and stir into half a cup of sour cream with onion and viennas.
  • Slit open the spuds and stuff with the Vienna mixture. Cover with another sprinkle of grated cheddar and place under the grill until deliciously melted. Comfort food at its best!

  • Get the kids to gently push a few pieces of raw spaghetti through Simply Chicken mini viennas to make the spider legs.

  • Sift 300ml cake flour, 15ml baking power and mixed dry herbs together, then combine with broccoli mixture
